I Need An Intervention

Hi, my name is Jessica, I am a professional procrastinator and I need an intervention.

Yes, when I say professional I really mean professional. If procrastination was an actual job, I would be CEO of the company. You know how I know this? By all of the things that are half done. For example...

I haven't posted a blog post in almost a month but I have 8 drafts that I am "in the process" of writing; so they are sitting there, waiting to be finished and posted.

I waited until the last week of my Spring classes to do all 4 of the honors projects that I should've been working on all semester. Luckily they weren't that hard and I did get them done.

I have a knitting project that has been half done for around 3 months. The really sad part is that it's a washcloth - which could be done in a couple hours, but instead it has sat there.

In a year, I have only read 10 out of 100 books for my 101 in 1001 challenge. However I have started reading and am in the middle of about 4 or 5 books. One of them is Dracula which I started reading in October....*giant pause*...of 2011.

While we are talking about entertainment, I can't seem to finish most shows that I watch on Netflix. This could be more of an A.D.D. issue but I've been jumping back and forth between shows. I started watching Bones but I don't remember if I finished it. I started to re-watch LOST, skipped to watching Doctor Who and actually did re-watch all 6 seasons - at least that's one I finished. Then I started TWO new series I don't think I really got into either of them, so now I am re-watching Torchwood. Poor Buffy the Vampire Slayer got forgotten, long, long ago.

Probably one of the worst procrastinations would be the Christmas cards/gifts that I haven't sent yet. I jokingly tell myself that they will get Christmas in July this year. *big sigh - shakes head*

Ok last one, I am in the middle of putting together a wedding album. Doesn't sound too bad except for the fact that it's my own wedding album and I've been married for 9 years. *sighs and laughs at self*

Please, please tell me that I am not the only person who procrastinates like this!! For those of you who procrastinate (even though it may not be of my caliber) how do you make yourself finish all of your projects or do you?!

Your CEO of Procrastination,
Jessy

  2. Yep, you are THE queen of procrastination!
But honestly, you come by this naturally, I too have struggled with procrastination all my life. But the older I get the more I realize I am responsible for myself and need to kick my own butt once in a while for being lazy!
BTW, I am looking forward to Christmas in July!
    Hugs, Mom
