Daughter's Day

Mother's Day is always a hard day for me. Not only because my mom lives so far away from me, but also because my hubby and I have been trying - and failing - to have kids for far too long. Every year, I hope that I can make a fun announcement or actually get to celebrate being a mom on Mother's Day. So far that has yet to happen and it's hard. 

Luckily, I have such a caring and compassionate family. I woke up this morning to a text from my mother, she wanted me to check my email. So I checked it and found this e-card waiting for me. My mom had recorded a message and the cute dog read to me in an English accent. 

My mom said, "In honor of you I am re-naming today Daughter's Day, a daughter like you deserves a day to be queen. You are such a blessing in my life, truly the best daughter anyone could ask for. I know God has a plan for your life; you are fearfully and wonderfully made. You are just the way He designed you to be. Love and Hugs, Mom"

So after listening to my e-card its needless to say, I was very touched, and emotional, and crying...lol I can't put into words all that I was feeling in that moment. All I know is that I have the best mom in the world. She is thoughtful, understanding, selfless, and I am very thankful to have her in my life. I would be lost without her. 

Oh but my caring and compassionate family doesn't end there....

My husband had to work early today and his way home he called to see if I wanted anything from the store. I said that I wanted cake... and brownies... Don't judge me remember I had been crying and needed comfort food. Well, not only did he get me cake and brownies he bought me flowers and a Mother's Day card. The inside read, "I can't imagine a wife more wonderful than you, a life more perfect than ours, or a man any luckier than me." He added, "and though you're not yet a mother, a great one you will be." ..... and I cried again...lol Yaay emotions...lol 

So, yes Mother's Day is a hard day for me. But I am a lucky girl who has wonderful family and friends that know how to make it easier. I love them more than words can ever express. <3

Nail Files: May 4th, 2014

This is my contribution to Star Wars Day...it was good to paint my nails again. I feel like I haven't done any nail art in a while. Oh wait...I haven't. I have been lacking inspiration lately. Star Wars Day was just what I needed. :-)

The Nail Files 4/8/14

Since I don't know if The Nail Files is still a link up that means I can post my pictures on Tuesday or Wednesday if I want to ;-) It's officially Spring in AZ (actually more like summer this week) so I decided to paint daisies on my nails. I like how they turned out but next time I may do pink with yellow dots. The yellow kind of bled into the white flowers and makes it a little hard to see the flowers. But overall they're still cute :-) Is it spring where you live? If not, at least you can enjoy the little daisies on my nails. ;-)

Ipsy?! What's Ipsy...

Hi everyone!! So lately I have been wanting to try out some new make-up but see there is this problem, I tend to stick to things that I know. I always get the same thing when I go out to eat, I get the same coffee at Starbucks, and I buy the same make-up. The only thing that I'll be adventurous with is nail polish...although come to think of it there are only a few brands that I own. LOL Recently my mom was talking about looking into Birchbox because we both love samples. I am an avid YouTube watcher so I have heard of Birchbox before simply by seeing Birchbox Reveal videos on some of the channels that I follow. Even though I'd seen the videos listed I had never actually watched a "Reveal" video. But since my mom mentioned it I had to check it out.

After watching my first Birchbox Reveal video another suggested video popped up...Birchbox vs. Ipsy...Ipsy?! I had never heard of that one before. I watched probably 10 Birchbox vs. Ipsy videos and I tell ya I was sold on Ipsy. Both Birchbox and Ipsy are "boxes" of make-up/cosmetic samples that you can subscribe to receive every month for only $10. From the videos it seems that Ipsy's samples are of better quality and sometimes quantity. Plus all of Ipsy's boxes actually come in a different bag every month and we all know how much I love purses, I just couldn't say no to a new cute makeup bag every month...lol I signed up and I'll get my first box bag in mid April. I'm soooo excited, I can't wait!! I'll be sure to show off all of my new goodies when I get them. :)
