Pinterest!!!

I can't believe I haven't blogged about Pinterest!! Pinterest is a website where you can go and view all of these wonderful pictures that are links to different things: recipes, ideas for the home/office/kids, recipes, craft ideas, DIY for just about everything, O and did I mention recipes?! LOL

You have to get an invite from a friend to join the site but after that all you do is add the "Pin It" link to your Bookmark bar and you are set. Whenever you find something online that you like and want to remember where it is, just click the "Pin It" link and link a picture or video to one of your boards. When you first start your account, Pinterest will give you some boards that are already set up but you can add or delete as many boards as you want. The boards are there as a way to organize all of your pins.

Every time you pin something, your pin is posted to a wall that anyone with a Pinterest account can see. The funnest part about Pinterest is following other people and seeing what they Pin. I find Most of my pins from looking through other people's pins and repinning it to one of my boards.

I usually end up on Pinterest the most on weekends. I really try not to log into Pinterest during the week, because when I go there I am there the rest of the day. One Pin, leads to another Pin, which leads to a website/blog, which leads to another website/blog...before I know it I've got 9 internet tabs open, most of which are Pinterest tabs. LOL

Here comes the confession, I currently have 42 Boards and over 1000 pins. I have boards related to all different things like food, I actually have several of those so that everything is organized, DYI clothing and accessories, craft ideas for both adults and kids, nail/hair/makeup art, quotes to live by and I even have some funny boards, a board that's full of things that remind me of my childhood and 1 board devoted completely to Harry Potter.

Since this is the first time I am telling you guys about Pinterest, I am going to post quite a few of my favorite pins here. I promise not to do one for each board, but there will be a few. I will post links underneath the pictures to the websites where most of these originated from.

2 Liter Drip Catcher - this one is for sale but it would be easy to make!
Chocolate Cola Cake
Feather Hair Accessory

Mouse Trap!! A memory from my childhood

YAY! I'm just addicted to the internet!
Slow-Baked Mac N Cheese

Newsprint Nails! I love this and it totally works!
btw I am linking to a different detailed tutorial
I loved this idea that I found on Pinterest.
Get "Oh the Places You'll Go" Dr. Seuss book and have each teacher sign it through out your child's education then give it to your child at their high school graduation!
I found my Sock Bun curl idea on Pinterest! <3
I love, love, LOVE Sock Bun curls!

Loved this idea - I saved it for later ;)

Pinterest made me realize that my cats really need a Tardis!

I also found a recipe for homemade baby wipes

Those are just some of my favorite finds. Remember I do have over 1000 pins. lol I will be starting to share more of Pinteresting finds with you in the future. I will be starting Pinteresting Wednesdays. So be looking for those coming up starting this week!

If anyone is interested in following me on Pinterest you can find my profile HERE. To join Pinterest you do have to get an invite from a friend. So be sure to let me know if you need one. I'd be more than happy to send an invite your way. :)

Can anyone fortell the future?!

First of all, it feels like it's been forever since I blogged last, so sorry I've been gone. Maybe my thoughts have been on a hiatus or something, who knows. Anyway, this week has taken an interesting turn of events. My hubby lost his job, the beginning of this week and I think that has left us all in a fog. It feels like Monday was about 3 weeks ago. LOL

Now my hubby has been without work before, the last time the company moved his department to Reno and we didn't want to move. But this job loss feels a little different and little more looming, I guess that is the right way to put it. Maybe that's because the economy is so different than it was just a few years ago, who knows. All I know is that we made it through the last time and turned out just fine.

I also have decided that everyone, whether you're single or not, has to go through the loss of a job at least once in your life. I won't lie, the unknown is scary. I have questions, like How long will it take for my hubby to find work? If he can't find anything right away, How will we pay bills and survive? How will this affect each of our demeanor's? The answer is I don't know, but God does.

I have Faith that God will take care of us. Growing up I didn't have a lot so I'm used to bargain shopping and not always getting what I want. But in the end, no matter what happened, I always had a roof over my head, food on the table and probably most importantly, I always had my epilepsy medication. I am sure that over the years the only reason that I've made it through was because God does take care of me.

So I will continue to hold on to my little bit of Faith and a little bit of Dr. Seuss wisdom never hurt anybody either. ;)

"It's a troublesome world. All the people who're in it are troubled with troubles almost every minute. You ought to be thankful, a whole heaping lot, for the places and people you're lucky you're not!" - Dr. Seuss

Wow Time Flies....

I really can not believe just how fast time flies. It feels like I moved to Arizona just a few years ago when in reality it's been 10 years! That's right, I moved to Arizona July 4th 2001. It was just a few months after that when our Nation watched in horror as planes crashed and the Towers fell. I, along with the rest of the country, was literally glued to the TV for days. I sat in horror as I watched all of the events of that fateful day unfold.

In the days that followed September 11, 2001 I remember listening to the news casters as they kept tallying up the people missing and the ones that had been found. It breaks my heart to think of all of those people who lost their lives and their loved ones who were left behind. It was just a normal work day that started and ended in tragedy. The more I think about it, the more I realize just how short life is and how much that we should live everyday to the fullest. Because you never know which one will be your last.

I am not a political person. I am a republican, I don't believe in abortions, I do believe that there is one true God who loves each and every person on this whole planet. I don't believe that this world and universe just evolved from the dust. I'm not afraid to say it, but I am not one to pushy either. I accept the fact that other people believe other things. And trust me lots of people do believe very different things.

I love the Country that I live in. I love the fact that I can believe what I want to believe and no one is there waiting to judge me for it. What amazes me the most about our country, is the fact that no matter what each person believes we ALL believe and stand for one thing and that is our Freedom and the Justice that comes with that Freedom.

After September 11, it amazed me how much everyone set aside their differences and worked together to make sure that everyone was taken care of. It didn't matter what the color of your skin was, or what political party you were, or if you were straight or gay, you were taken care of. O how I wish that we could always act like that. This nation would be so different if everyone just set aside their differences and saw people for what they really are, people.

So today as the whole nation remembers and reflects on the events of that tragic day 10 years ago, I hope that everyone can set aside their differences and know that none of our differences really matter. We are all just people and in the end we all really want the same goals. We all want freedom, we all want justice and we all just want to be able to live happy lives. Everyone deserves to loved and to be listened to. I hope that someone takes the time to love you and listen to you today.

All about me :)

I saw this on a friends blog and really loved it, so I decided to fill it out too. It originally came from Facebook, so there maybe a question or two which pertain to Facebook things.

1. What was the last thing you put in your mouth?
Coffee, what else is there?! ;)

2. Where was your profile picture taken?
My profile pic on Facebook and for my blog was taken by me with my webcam.

3. Can you play Guitar Hero?
Hmmmm, I'm not sure, I've never played. But I would imagine not...lol I am not very coordinated when it comes to playing an instrument.

4. Name someone who made you laugh today.
I don't remember if I have laughed today or not. But if I have it was probably due to something silly that my hubby said/did.

5. How late did you stay up last night and why?
1:00am...I was online. First, it was looking at pretty nail colors on Pinterest, which lead to me going to blogs and looking through pages and pages of nail design ideas, which lead to searching for nail polish on Amazon.com...do you see where this is going?! LOL

6. If you could move somewhere else, would you?
Well, I think Arizona is growing on me. The summers are very, very, VERY Hot!! So a "snow bird" living situation would be ideal. Winters in AZ and summers spent closer to my mom.

7. Ever been kissed under fireworks?
O probably, but then again, it is so hot here we rarely go to the fireworks...lol

8. Which of your friends lives closest to you on facebook?
Aside from my hubby and my cousin, probably Julie. :)

9. Do you believe exes can be friends?
idk, personally I think that would be hard to do. Because honestly do both people ever reeally get over each other? I'm sure at least one of them always feels something toward the other.

10. How do you feel about Dr Pepper?
I like it, but not as much as I like Barq's Rootbeer. lol

11. When was the last time you cried really hard?
I honestly can't remember. I know I have recently but obviously not recent enough to remember how long it's been or why I was crying.

12. Who was the last person you took a picture of?
That would be me. I like to take self pictures even though my web cam isn't the greatest. :)

13. Was yesterday better than today? What happened yesterday?
They were about the same I think. Today is probably better just because I am home and I got to sleep in this morning. But yesterday wasn't bad either.

14. Can you live a day without TV?
Yes, can and do frequently. Now internet on the other hand...

15. Are you upset about anything?
Not at the moment, that is not likely to change today but ya never know what a day can bring...lol

16. Do you think relationships are ever really worth it?
Yes they definitely are! I believe relationships are a key to life and truly living.

17. Are you a bad influence?
I don't think so. I don't really do anything really bad.

18. Night out or night in?
Night out. Night out. Night Out! They are so fun! :)

19. What items could you not go without during the day?
Coffee and internetz...my day is not complete without either of them! Not to mention the withdrawal I would go through....lol

20. Who was the last person you visited in the hospital?
That would be my hubby when he had his appendix out a couple years ago. Which that wasn't really a visit cuz I actually curled up in the chair in his room and slept there.

21. What does the 20th text message in your inbox say?
I have no way of knowing what the 20th one is, seeing as all my messages are grouped by person not in order of receipt. Also, I don't have a cell phone so it would be either Facebook or email. The last email, that wasn't junk, that I got was from my friend Jill. And my last Facebook message was from Julie.

22. How do you feel about your life right now?
Pretty good. I don't have anything to really complain about.

23. Do you hate anyone?
Well, I wouldn't say that I hate her, but there is someone that I am glad I don't work with anymore. Because for some reason she really did hate me. : /

24. If we were to look in your Facebook inbox, what would we find?
A bunch of fun (and silly) messages to friends including ones about Vampire Diaries. ;) - I'm keeping this one from my friend's blog because it just fits so well. :)

25. Say you were given a drug test right now, would you pass?
Unless caffeine is something that is tested for, then yes I would pass with flying colors. LOL

26. Has anyone ever called you perfect before?
No, that's probably because I'm really not perfect. :P

27. What song is stuck in your head?
Honestly?! Nothing...I can't even think of a song right now. I think that MUST be remedied!

28. Someone knocks on your window at 2:00 a.m., who do you want it to be?
My mom, or Jill or Rachel or Sarah...I miss all of them a lot!!

29. Wanna have grandkids before you’re 50?
I can't think about grandkids yet, I'm still working on having kids! One thing at a time...lol

30. Name something you have to do tomorrow.
Laundry and dishes...ick :P

31. Do you think too much or too little?
I think I think too much about everything. Sometimes I think so much to the point that it's way TOO much and I have to do a mind dump and type out all of my thoughts. It makes me feel better.

33. Do you smile a lot?
I do and I am told that I have a cute laugh too. ;)

Quizzical Question: To be friends or not to be friends? That is the question.

My friend Julie blogged about Facebook recently, in her blog post titled Facebook Reality. In her blog post, she said that even though she has all of these "friends" on Facebook the majority of the time she still ends up feeling lonely. I agree. I have 265 friends on Facebook, that is 20 less than I had 20 mins ago, but it's still a lot of friends. Out of all of my 265 friends, I probably only interact with 20, maybe 25, of them on a regular basis.

I am really glad that Facebook is around because it has helped me find some friends that I never thought I would ever get to talk to again. But at the same time, Julie's post made me start thinking about how I should really classify "friends" on Facebook. Are my FB friends really people who I consider to be my friends, are they just acquaintances, are they people I have ever met or are they someone that I even really like at all?

The truth of the matter is that I think for a while I got caught up in trying to see how many friends I could have on Facebook. In the end, I ended up adding a bunch of people that I don't really consider to be my friends.  I just went in to my friends on Facebook and deleted 20 people that I don't consider to be my friends. They were people that I really don't know, or who I feel don't know me, people who are never online, and people I have never talked to in the whole time they've been my Facebook "Friends".

I think there are still a few people on my Friends list that really shouldn't be there but I am torn. I struggle with what people will think if I suddenly don't appear on their list. I know it's kinda pathetic but I don't really want to alienate people. At the same time, I don't want to be that two-faced friend either making people believe that I am a friend when I don't really consider them a friend at all.

So tell me, those of you who are on Facebook, how do you decide which people to add as a friend and which people to ignore?

P.S. To those of you who are my friends on Facebook, don't worry. If you consider me to be your friend, chances are I think you are a pretty good friend too. :)
